Book #2: This book was recommended in the latest All About You magazine, so I picked it up from our local library. To be honest, at first I didn't like the book. It's written by a lady who lives in Hawaii and is about a family that moves to Hawaii from New York. The marriage is falling apart and it's about this woman's life in Hawaii with her daughter and what happens in their marriage. I wouldn't call it a page turner, but I finished it. =) 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.
Attempted Book #3 and #4. L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad. I loved her in Laguna Beach and The Hills (on MTV), but she is a horrible author. I got through chapter 3 before I had to stop. Thank goodness I didn't buy the book! 0 out of 5 stars. I saw this book in Anthropologie and it sounded interesting. It's an anthology of unsent letters sent from women to women about things they didn't have the chance or heart to share with a friend. I made it through to chapter 5 before I got bored. All of the letters are different and one brought me to tears, but it's not what I'm looking for at this time. 2 out of 5 stars.
hee hee...think it's a riot you're adding 'attempted' books. love the idea...i would've given the LA candy book 0 stars just based on the fact that her NAME is 3 times as large as the title of the book!! very impressed you've started this blog. do you accept guest writers? ;)
ReplyDeleteummm....wait a second. who are you? where do you live? i just read your profile. it says you live 30 minutes away from the water and 30 minutes away from a bustling city? i'm assuming that's just for the effect? aren't you like 5 minutes away to the water and ten minutes in traffic to the city? the snow capped mountains you got just about right, but think it's more like 40. ;) hee hee...
